On June 10th 2023, one month after his 26th birthday – my Sales Associate, Jesse Navlet took his own life leaving his family, friends, and our team shocked and heart broken.
The hard truth is that in 2021 – 48,183 people died by suicide. That is one death every 11 minutes. The suicide rate amongst males is four times higher than women, although they are 50% of our population they were nearly 80% of those suicides.
Last July at my old studio I held a donation class in his honor called “Beyond a Month” because focusing on men’s mental health should not be limited to just one month.
One of five core values that Orangetheory has is community. Community is so much more than the good times. It is also getting through the hardest times – together. Which is why I wanted to continue this tradition to Poway.
